Websites
Accessibility
Building the site so people with disabilities can use it: readable text contrast, labels a screen reader can speak, keyboard navigation, captions on video. The standard is called WCAG.
Why it matters for your business
It is the right thing and it widens your audience, including older customers. Accessible sites also tend to rank better, because the same clean structure helps crawlers. And it reduces exposure to the lawsuits some businesses have faced over sites nobody could use.
In practice
A retirement advisor's site uses larger default text, high contrast buttons and a visible label on every form field, which the firm's mostly retired clients appreciate on a phone.
