Native app vs web app
A native app is installed from the App Store or Google Play and built for that phone. A web app runs in the browser at a web address. A progressive web app (PWA) is a web app that can be added to the home screen and feel installed.
Native apps cost more to build and maintain (two platforms, store reviews) but can use the phone fully: notifications, camera, GPS in the background. For most business tools a web app or PWA does the job and updates instantly for everyone. Choose by what the app must do.
A shuttle company's rider app is native, because riders expect it in the store and need push alerts. Its driver inspection tool is a web app, because drivers just open a link, snap photos and submit.
