Webhook

An automatic message one system sends to another the instant something happens: "a form was just submitted", "a payment just cleared". The opposite of checking every few minutes.

Why it matters for your business

Webhooks are what make "instantly" possible: the lead text to your phone the second a form lands, the CRM record created before you finish reading the email. They are cheap, reliable and the backbone of most small business automation.

In practice

When a payment comes through Stripe for a cabinetry deposit, a webhook tells the CRM to move the deal to "Deposit received" and sends the customer a scheduling link.
