AI at work
Guardrails
The limits you put on an AI: topics it will not discuss, actions it needs approval for, data it cannot see, and a hand off to a person when it is unsure.
Why it matters for your business
An AI without limits will eventually say or do something you would not. Guardrails let it work on your behalf while keeping the risky decisions human. Approval steps for anything that sends, spends or deletes are the usual starting point.
In practice
A builder's sales agent drafts follow up emails but cannot send one until someone approves it in a queue. After a few weeks of clean drafts, routine ones go out automatically and only unusual ones wait.
